While solar energy is a much cleaner alternative compared to fossil fuels, it is not entirely free of environmental impact.

The processes involved in the production, construction, decommissioning, and recycling of solar installations have their own ecological consequences.

For example, the production of solar panels involves several energy-intensive processes that generate emissions.

The extraction of metals and minerals, including rare earth elements, as well as the transportation and manufacturing of solar panels, electronic components, and batteries, all result in environmental impacts due to emissions and resource consumption.
